Greetings...
Today I want to try this a bit differently today. I don't plan on always having feeding the troll on a blog... infact I'll be converting to a different site rather soon. I want to create an enviroment where the players can same something too. I guess I don't expect this show to work solo... I have a few guest articles lined up, so keep an eye out for that.
Anyways... today I really want to gather some feedback... I'd like to aim this at the raiding crowd out there. What gear sucks? Since TSS and TBS were released, I'd have to say the over all quality of item creation has been off. I'm not going to point any fingers, but instead I want to start pushing forwards with some changes to current items.
For instance, the TSS Berserker Raid Item
From Harfang....
Ok... this neck... might look really good to some people... but in truth, it's lacking a major component... the focus...
When you create an item that is class based, you are basically saying, "hey, this is an item YOU WANT TO HAVE as !!!". But instead it's just a "ehh" item.
What is an "ehh" item? An ehh is the item that would be ok if you had all your focus accounted for, you didn't need a clicky, and you were basically just upgrading a slot to have better ac/hp... which is really the most boring of all upgades.... when the focus/mod2's down grade, but you gain hp/ac/mana/... everyone has to do it sometimes... hence the the name "ehh"...
You can always spot an "ehh" whenever someone win a drop, but no one says gratz.
Anyways...
If wanted to fix this BERSERKER item.. I'd first add like 40 frenzy. Then I'd toss 20 avoidance or 20 combat effects on that... really beefing the mod2... then, I'd add Jarring Strike as a clicky... why? because berserkers need more deaggro and it's easy to code. Finally I'd try to score a -aggro focus similar to the tank hate focus's found in game... it would just be coded in reverse... -10% de-aggro focus would make me explode in the head I think.
Anyways, that's what I'd do!
What items suck and what would you do! LEAVE COMMENTS!
